Robinson steps down from APPEA
Belinda Robinson will step down from her role as chief executive officer of the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association on June 30 this year after six years heading the peak body representing the interests of the country’s upstream oil and gas exploration and production industry.
Edelman a Supreme Court judge
James Edelman has been appointed a judge of the Supreme Court following the retirement of the Hon Justice Blaxell. Professor Edelman has practiced as a barrister for the past 10 years from the chambers of senior barrister and new WA governor Malcolm McCusker. He also practices as a barrister in London and has lectured in Australia, the UK, US and Europe.
Bartlett to leave Capricorn
Capricorn Society chief executive officer Trent Bartlett will leave the automotive repair and service cooperative in the second half of this year. Capricorn Society chairman Colin Heavyside said the decision was the result of a comprehensive process to review the future needs of the company relative to its diversification strategy, without changing Capricorn’s fundamental direction, management structure or current strategy. Mr Bartlett, who has headed the cooperative for the last 10 years, will continue to represent Capricorn in an ambassadorial capacity from time to time.
Coates resigns from Minara Resources
Minara Resources chairman Peter Coates has resigned, with no reason provided, from the board of the WA nickel and cobalt producer after almost three years in the position. Mr Coates is currently chairman of Santos and a non-executive director of Amalgamated Holdings. He was previously chairman of Xstrata Australia and prior to that, chief executive officer of Xstrata Coal. Minara Resources deputy chairman Malcolm Macpherson will act as interim chairman until a replacement is elected.
