Civil contractor Brierty has appointed Tony Bevan as CEO for six months following the resignation of Stuart Crofts last month.
Mr Crofts resigned following discussions about the company's future direction and strategy saying he was planning on pursuing his career elsewhere.
Mr Bevan was appointed acting CEO but the board has now appointed him to the position until March.
During that time the board will assess whether he will continue in the role permanently.
Geoff Edwards, formerly of Neptune Marine, has also been appointed Brierty's chief financial officer.
Mr Croft was appointed managing director in September 2008.
He took on the job after company founder Alan Brierty stepped down to become a non-executive director.
