The Australian Institute of Office Professionals breakfast celebrated National Secretaries’ Day last week with an awards ceremony that included a breathtaking dance extravaganza and continental breakfast.
More than 400 people filled the Grand Ballroom at The Hyatt Regency Perth to enjoy a full continental breakfast and pay tribute to administrative and secretarial staff across the nation, as well as congratulating the winners of AIOP’s annual award program.
Jenni Lumsden won the Office Professional of the Year Award, which recognised her administrative/executive support to the manager of rural water planning, the director of resource science, and other divisional officers within the Water and Rivers Commission.
Australia Red Cross continuous improvement administrator for the Australia Red Cross WA, Liz Gray, won the AIOP Achievement Award, while Government Employees Superannuation Board management support officer Bernice Yoong won the AIOP Encouragement Award.
Alcoa, Alinta Gas, BankWest, DMR Consulting, New Town Toyota, and Taylor Smart were among some of the companies that attended the award presentation and were privy to the exceptional dance show produced by Corporate Theatre.
Next year’s awards will take place on Wednesday April 23 at The Hyatt Regency and nominations will be called for at the end of January 2003. For further information about the AIOP or the AIOP Office Professional of the Year Awards, contact AIOP Award Convenor Angela Alloway on 9225 1202.
