Apache's Australian managing director Tim Wall will move to head the group's operations in Canada, with his deputy, John Bedingfield, replacing him as the local chief.
Mr Wall will take up the position of president of Apache Canada,to take leadership of the larger Canadian region, replacing John Crum, who previously ran Apache's operations in Australia and the North Sea. Mr Crum was recently was named co-COO and president - North America
Mr Wall has been region vice president - Australia and managing director, Apache Energy since March 2006.
He joined Apache in 1990 as an engineer in Houston, first working in Midland as the Permian Basin district manager in 1993.
He worked as Gulf Coast production manager in 1996, country manager in China in 1997, Central Region operations manager in 2000 and Apache North Sea operations manager in 2004.
Mr Wall moved to Perth as deputy managing director and operations manager in 2005.
Mr Bedingfield will take over the position of region vice president - Australia and managing director, Apache Energy in Perth. John has been deputy managing director and exploration manager in Perth since August 2005.
He joined the company in Houston in 1998 as senior staff geophysicist in the Houston Egypt exploration team and spent six years in Cairo, first as geophysical manager and later as exploration manager.
Before joining Apache, Mr Bedingfield worked as a geophysicist at Exxon Company, USA, Esso Production Malaysia, Petronas, and Exxon Exploration Company in various domestic and international assignments.
