A question about Aussie batting legend Don Bradman may not survive a Rudd government review of the Australian citizenship test, but the link to sport remains – and it’s a Western Australian one too. Former Northam girl, triple gold medallist and ex-Hockeyroos captain Rechelle Hawkes (pictured) has been appointed to an independent committee of seven eminent Australians to review the citizenship test. The Note recalls Ms Hawkes moved into financial services marketing when her playing career ended after captaining Australia to gold at the Sydney Olympics. She has also been an official ambassador for the sport.
