THE big end of town has been increasingly frustrated by the tortuously slow pace of Perth’s CBD, which really does lack vibrancy. So the Note reckons its good to see them take matters into their own hands. And that’s exactly what Woodside has done by backing a new entertainment series for the outdoor plaza at the back of its St Georges Terrace headquarters. Live@Woodside is a series of free live performances which started this week, using the expertise of the Australian Business Arts Foundation to bring together a bunch of acts. The move has also been backed by Arts Minister Sheila McHale, which at least means someone in the government is back on speaking terms with Perth’s biggest company after that big falling out 18 months ago over domestic gas supplies.
