The Jervoise Bay project was sparked the moment Prime Minister John Howard gave the nod to a Centenary Foundation $80 million grant.
Canberra responded in the wake of two federal parliamentary reports, delightfully named The Sea of Lost Opportunities and The Sea of Indifference.
Once the decision was made, the Court Government was required to make up the difference – another $80 million – but with the already strong support of Richard Court and Hendy Cowan, there was no turning back.
The WA Government recently launched an international advertising campaign seeking expressions of interest by May 7 for a long-term manager to build facilities and manage the industrial facility.
