The state government has allocated $1.2 million in funding for sporting and recreation clubs, as part of a state-wide initiative.
The grants will be allocated to State Sporting Associations (SSAs) and local governments, which will support sport and recreation clubs in building their organisational capacity and capability.
The state government has committed $600,000 of funding each year under the program, for another two years.
Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray said the 5,500 sport and recreation clubs across Western Australia were the “lifeblood” of their respective communities.
“The Every Club program ensures the invaluable volunteers that make the operation of those clubs possible have access to the information and resources they need, when they need them,” he said.
"The program funds local governments and SSAs to deliver programs to clubs that enable them to upskill and address common areas for improvement, ensuring they are in a strong position to continue delivering great sporting opportunities to grassroots participants across the state."
The Every Club grants scheme forms part of the state government’s Every Club program, which also includes the Every Club Hub – which provides online access to information and resources for clubs.
Applications for round 2020-21 of the grants scheme have now opened. They will close on November 9.
