SOFITEL Marara Bora will reopen on June 8 following a $US15 million renovation that included 13 new over-water bungalows, a new spa and horizon pool, a new bar for the beach and pool area and an ultra-modern Japanese teppanyaki restaurant. All guest bungalows and public areas have been completely revamped, bringing the former film set resort back to its original movie star glamour. To celebrate the re-launch of the resort, Qantas Holidays has six-night packages from $3,174 per person twin share ex Sydney. The package includes return airfares from Australia to Papeete and from Papeete to Bora Bora, one night’s accommodation at the Sofitel Maeva Beach, five nights’ accommodation at the Sofitel Marara Bora Bora in a garden bungalow and all airfare-related surcharges, fees and taxes. The package is on sale until December 15 for travel from November 1 to December 15 2006. The Sofitel Marara’s refurbishment is part of Accor’s major upgrade program to all its French Polynesian Sofitels, with the Sofitel Maeva Beach recently completing a $US18m renovation.
