Burgess wins increased PTA contract

Burgess Rawson has renewed its contract with the Public Transport Authority of WA for property management services of its 500 leases, worth around $4.8 million.

The PTA said it has approximately 500 leases in its current portfolio with approximately 200 properties licensed on a peppercorn basis to local government authorities for civic purposes.

The majority of the properties leased are for land only and are therefore effectively ground leases, the PTA said.

Burgess’ $4.8 million contract will run for three years, and it was chosen over four other tenderers.

The contract will succeed Burgess’ five-year, $4.3 million deal with the PTA, which expired at the end of June.

At the time of the previous award, the PTA had around 595 leases.
