The overall 104 per cent increase in sales is attributed to a 121 per cent increase in sales for houses, 106 per cent for units and 11 per cent for vacant land.
The latest positive sales figures come on the back of lower transactions recorded last week attributed to the Christmas break.
It is normal for transactions to recover rapidly after the holiday break.
Total properties listed for sale increased by a marginal 1 per cent over the week to 14,047. Listings for houses and units increased by 1 and 2 per cent respectively while vacant land listings remained stable over the week. The total number of listings recorded this week is 9 per cent lower than four weeks ago and 2 per cent lower than the same time last year.
Turning to the rental market, Reiwa members reported total properties available for rent increased by 4 per cent over the week to 10,912. This is also 4 per cent higher than levels seen four weeks ago and remains 12 per cent higher than the same time last year.
