New Woodside executives
Woodside Petroleum used its 2012 Investor Briefing on Monday to introduce executive vice-presidents Robert Edwardes and Greg Roder to its stakeholders. Mr Edwardes, who joined the company three weeks prior to head-up development, has spent 35 years at ExxonMobil and four years at WorleyParsons. Mr Roder joined Woodside in 2011 after more than 10 years’ experience with institutions including AMP Capital Investors and Macquarie Equities and leads the company’s corporate strategy and planning division.
Tuckwell in Ausdrill comeback
Recently-departed MACA chief executive Chris Tuckwell has returned to Ausdrill in the newly created role of chief operating officer – African operations. Mr Tuckwell spent 13 years at Ausdrill in a variety of senior roles between 1994 and 2007, before joining mining services firm MACA as managing director.
Simpson joins Atlas board
WA iron ore producer Atlas Iron has appointed Geoff Simpson (pictured) as an independent non-executive director. Mr Simpson is managing partner of law firm Allen & Overy’s Perth office, as well as the global head of its mining group. Atlas chief commercial officer Mark Hancock has also been appointed to the board, as an executive director.
Wills quits SEA for Smith & Duda
Ray Wills has been appointed as a partner in government relations advisory firm Smith & Duda Consulting. Professor Wills has resigned from his role as chief executive officer of the Sustainable Energy Association of Australia to accept this new role, but stays on as an SEA board member and media spokesperson. The SEA has commenced the search for a new CEO.
