BGC has won the $130 million construction tender for the expansion and redevelopment of St John of God Health Care’s Subiaco and Murdoch divisions.
CEO of SJGHC Subiaco Dr Neale Fong said the $100 million redevelopment in Subiaco was the most significant development at a Western Australian private health facility in recent times.
The Subiaco hospital site will undergo the refurbishment of all wards, construction of a multi storey car park, new entrance and chapel.
A Comprehensive Cancer Centre is part of the redevelopment and provides a holistic integrated approach to cancer treatment in one facility.
An ambulatory Care Centre building will also be built which will provide five new operating theatres, a new day surgery and endoscopy unit and 45 stage-two recovery beds.
BGC Constuction general manager Gerry Forde said BGC had considerable experience in health care to draw upon.
“[BGC] will foster a relationship that will deliver the project on time, within budget and with no interruption to the day-to-day running of the hospital,” he said.
