THE PERTH facility of Software Engineering Australia has opened at Technology Park in Bentley.
Part of a new Australia-wide organisation created with industry, Federal and WA Government funding, it is a not-for-profit company aimed at increasing competitiveness and technological sophistication of the software industry for both software developers and acquirers.
CEO Stuart Hope said the organisation addressed a gap in software evolution in Australia – “an area much neglected in terms of competitive development.”
“We really need infrastructure in place to be properly positioned for the Information Age,” Mr Hope said.
“Developing component technology is the next step for us.”
SEAWA will soon introduce an incubator centre that will give members access to meeting rooms, training rooms and other resources.
