RADIO newcomer Nova has failed to regain the ground it lost in a key demographic during the last survey, a result it claimed must have been a mistake.
The station did add to its audience in the 18-24 bracket, climbing about 5 per cent to third place with 15.6 per cent of the market, but remains well short of the lead position it lost in the previous month’s survey when listeners fell 40 per cent.
92.9 held the top spot in that demographic despite a slip of 1 percentage point, but it switched places with Nova in the 10-17 age range after a 31 per cent slump in audience to 23.8 per cent against Nova’s 18 per cent rise to 30.7 per cent share.
In the hotly contested breakfast segment, ABC720 was the best gainer, solidifying its second place position behind 94.5FM. The good ABC form flowed through to the morning slot, with Liam Bartlett gaining 2 percentage points to 11.9 per cent to regain the talkback mantle from 6PR rival Paul Murray, who slipped 0.6 percentage points to 9.8 per cent.
