Dealing with Difficult People
The Centre for Association Management is conducting a one-day workshop entitled Dealing with Difficult People, on Friday July 18, at their offices at 36 Brisbane Street, Perth.
The workshop has been designed to equip participants with the confidence, skills and approach to enable them to deal with difficult customers and colleagues in a variety of awkward and trying situations.
Focusing exclusively on the difficult situations that arise in the workplace, the workshop will provide participants with information such as, the basic rules to follow; identifying and dealing with different customer types; getting customers to listen; negative words and phrases; and case studies and video examples of difficult situations.

Making the shift from managing to leading
On Wednesday July 16, UWA Extension are conducting a one day workshop entitled Making the Shift from Managing to Leading – The 21st Century Managers Guide for Success, at the University of Western Australia campus. The workshop has been designed to assist current and prospective managers and looks at what managers need to do to move away from managing or maintaining towards developing and leading in order to create a workplace that encourages innovation and excellence. The workshop will also compare traditional perspectives of management with today’s requirements and explore different leadership styles.
With an emphasis on communication and feedback, the four main topics that will be explored during the workshop are developing yourself and your organisation, developing your team, developing individuals and developing the operations or service that you and your team provide.

Grains West Expo 2003
From Wednesday July 16 to Thursday July 17, Oilseeds WA in conjunction with the National Agricultural Commodities Marketing Association and the Stock Feed Manufacturers Association of WA, is conducting Grains West Expo 2003 at the Rendezvous Observation City Hotel.
Grains West Expo 2003 is the inaugural Western Australian grain, stockfeed and oilseeds industry expo and will feature a trade exhibition of products from plant breeders, growers, transporters and storage specialists, marketers, and agricultural advisers, as well as presentations from internationally recognised specialists. Keynote speakers for the Expo include, National Agricultural Commodities Marketing Association chair Dennis Wise, Farmanco, director Ken Sevenson and Grain Biotech Australia CEO Dr Ian Edwards.
