Zone Q's South Perth apartments rejected, again

China-backed developer Zone Q Investments’ plans for a South Perth apartment tower on MIll Point Road have been rejected for a second time by planning authorities, as uncertainty over the suburb’s town planning scheme puts a cloud over future development.

These high rise projects take no account whatsoever of the limited road infrastructure, and limited possibilities for development thereof, in the area. Civic Heart is already due to put an immense strain on the street system, with 281 apartments and three floors of commercial space generating underground car parking space for 750 vehicles entering and exiting out of two driveways into already busy roads (one entry/exit in Labouchere Road, and the other in Mill Point Road) with cars needing to cross over oncoming lanes to get in and out of the complex.

I totally agree but these are not the issues of the developers ... this was created by an uninformed City exec and Councillors that didn't know what there own Scheme changes actually meant. That is incompetence, but still they are there and now they are vowing to spend more ratepayers money to fight their own stupidity. Where's the City administrators ???
