A 34 year-old boilermaker-welder killed in a workplace accident this morning was working at RCR Tomlinson's Welshpool Mining Facility.
RCR Tomlinson said the accident happened about 7.30am this morning during a routine fabrication procedure.
The man was employed by Skilled.
In a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange RCR said it was notifying the worker's family about the accident.
RCR's Chief Executive Officer, Paul Dalgleish said the accident was deeply distressing for everyone, particularly for the family of the employee and his colleagues.
"Our immediate priority is to support both the family and our employees," Mr Dalgleish said.
The company has suspended operations at the site of the incident while the Company and regulatory authorities, including WorkSafe, conduct their investigations into the incident.
WorkSafe Commissioner Nina Lyhne said any work-related death was a tragedy, and relayed her sincere condolences to the man's family.
