WESFARMERS CSBP has chosen Tivoli’s IT Director product to manage its information technology systems in its Perth headquarters and six remote locations in the WA wheatbelt region.
The bulk fertiliser and chemical division of Wesfarmers is expected to save about $30,000 by using Tivoli’s automated software system, as it eliminates the need for manual software upgrades and audits.
The package will be used to improve tracking, management and reporting, particulary with respect to Y2K software and hardware change requirements.
Wesfarmers CSBP information systems analyst John Riley said the company anticipated a total payback on the Tivoli system in less than two years as a result of the identified cost efficiencies.
“With automated software distribution, and improved management of our NetWare and NT servers we now envisage remote support will solve more than 50 per cent of all help desk calls when IT Director is fully implemented,” Mr Riley said.
