Wesfarmers Ltd proceeded to compulsory acquisition of insurance broker OAMPS Ltd today, after acquiring 90.77 per cent of available company stock.
Wesfarmers managing director Richard Goyder said the company was pleased with the outcome, representing the first major move by Mr Goyder since assuming the leadership role in July last year.
"The acquisition of OAMPS will add value for our shareholders in an area in which we have expertise and have achieved very good results," he said.
Wesfarmers shares were down 0.41 per cent at $34.41 at close of trade today.
