Wavenet International Ltd (ASX: WAL), today announced it has received an order from international provider of integrated communications solutions, Motorola Technology, valued at approximately AU$550,000.
Wavenet has had an exclusive contract with Motorola to supply OEM modems for its Private DataTAC networks worldwide since 2002. Following an arduous engineering development and sign-off program - which involved reviewing potential candidates from around the world - Wavenet commenced first production deliveries from June 2003. Since that time, and including the most recent orders, total shipments of modems to Motorola have approached almost 10,000 units.
Wavenet's Chairman, Mr Mick Stroud said it was very pleasing to receive ongoing endorsement from such a prestigious company as Motorola, and a testament to its belief in Wavenet Technology.
"The reliability of the Wavenet Boomer OEM modem, has been exceptional with very few returns from the field," he said.
"Motorola have employed Boomer OEM modems in mobile computing equipment such as laptops and handheld devices, as well as workstations and automatic meter reading equipment internationally."
"The strategic relationship we have with Motorola is a fantastic approval of our technology and one we look forward to continuing into the future," said Mr Stroud.
Wavenet's order book now stands in its strongest position to date with orders valued at over $5.4 million and which are scheduled for shipment in the first half of this financial year.
