Perth-based wireless telecommunications company Wavenet International Ltd has received an initial order for 352 of its hand-held WaveReader devices from Brisbane-based group, Technisyst Pty Ltd.
WaveReader is a mobile tracking device with a Global Positioning System location capability that can communicate with a centralised server enabling regular and accurate positioning of personnel and high-value packages.
Deliveries for the new order, worth around $174,000, are due to be completed by late July.
Wavenet general manager Richard Timms said the Technisyst order was an encouraging breakthrough into a new market and hoped it would lead to further business opportunities in the eastern states.
"We are confident that the order from Technisyst will be the first step in what we hope to be a growing market in the eastern states where there are strong opportunities for us to achieve sales of WaveReader," said Mr Timms.
