Warn appointed government architect

Donaldson + Warn director Geoff Warn has been appointed as the state's new government architect following a nation-wide selection process.

Mr Warn will work with government agencies, providing strategic advice to improve the design of public buildings and spaces and the built environment.

“I look forward to offering leadership and guidance on the value of good design and its effective procurement and delivery,” Mr Warn said.

“I am keen to build on the achievements of the previous government architects and advance the objectives of the built environment policy Better Places and Spaces.”

The office of the government architect was established in 2003 and falls within the Department of Finance.

Finance Minister Mike Nahan said Mr Warn was commited to architectural education and brought 33 years of experience to the role.

“Geoff has a well-deserved reputation for strong commitment for quality in the built environment and I welcome his contribution to encouraging design excellence in this State,” Mr Nahan said.

Mr Warn replaces Cox Howlett & Bailey Woodland director Steve Woodland.
