New vehicle sales in Western Australia throughout October have reversed the previous month's fall, climbing over 4 per cent according to the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries.
Latest figures for sales in October showed WA sold 9850 units, compared with 9454 vehicles sold in September.
Sales figures for September fell over 3 per cent compared to August.
Compared to last year's October results, new vehicle sales fell 5.8 per cent, around half of the national figure which plummeted 11.4 per cent.
Nationally, 79,105 new cars and trucks were sold in October, down 10,184 compared to October last year.
The FCAI said over the first ten months of 2008, 864,037 new vehicles were sold, a fall of 0.9 per cent compared to the corresponding period last year.
WA experienced a slightly larger fall of 1.1 per cent, with vehicles sold over the year to the end of October at 99,952 units compared to last year's figure of 101,031.
Overall, Toyota was the top-selling company in October nationally with 18,705 vehicles, ahead of Holden on 10,171 and Ford on 8,567.
Toyota also was the market leading company year-to-date with 202,511 vehicles, almost double Holden's 109,771.
