WA unemployment rate up

WESTERN Australia’s unemployment rate has bucked the downward national trend, rising to 3.2 per cent in May from 2.7 per cent, as the country’s average fell to a fresh three-decade low of 4.2 per cent. The continuing strength in employment numbers nationally was seen as further evidence that higher interest rates were likely later this year.
