WA’s best to vie for art awards

COUNCIL House is hosting the City of Perth Art Award, showcasing the contemporary work of some of WA’s best artists, from November 10 to 17.

First prize is $12,000, the largest cash prize for visual arts in WA. There are also three $1,000 awards.

Lord Mayor Peter Nattrass said this year’s theme, A Multi-Story City, showed Perth as a bustling metropolis.

“The quality of work received is a testament to the vast array of talent we have in the State,” he said.

A percentage of proceeds from the sale of Art Award works will be donated to the Perth City Mission’s On TRACK Program for youth at risk.
