Well done Western Australian wine producers in being awarded a trophy, 5 gold, 25 silver, 49 bronze & 21 commendations at the 2010 Decanter World Wine Awards. A little known winery from Greenock, in the north western sub region of the Barossa Valley, South Australia, called Murray Street Vineyards whose part owner/winemaker just happens to be Andrew Seppelt (a 6th generation of Benno & Sophia Seppelt, who were instrumental in establishing the Australian Wine Industry), has been recognised as Australia's most successful exhibitor at the 2010 Decanter World Wine Awards. They submitted 7 wines & received 3 gold medals (for their 2006 "Benno", 2006 "Sophia" & 2007 "Gomersal" Shiraz), 2 bronze medals (for their 2007 "Greenock" Shiraz & 2007"Barossa", a blend of Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro & Cinsaut). These awarded wines only confirm the consistency of quality of the wines produced by Murray Street Vineyards, with the 2006 "Greenock" Shiraz being awarded trophy at the 2008 Decanter World Wine Awards for the best Rhone variety over 10 pounds UK. Murray Street Vineyards will be attending the 2010 Good Food & Wine Show at the Perth Convention Centre on July 01,02 & 03 2010
