Mills Wilson Communication Consultants, Rio Tinto and the Department of Education and Training have won three of the 17 Public Relations Institute of Australia Golden Target awards for excellence, best practice and professionalism in PR.
The awards were announced last night at the PRIA National Conference in Melbourne.
The Department of Education & Training was a winner in the category of Consumer marketing - New and/or Existing Products or Services, for Carolyn Bacher's "New Students for Old Modern School" campaign to revamp the image of Perth Modern School after its return to academic selection.
Mills Wilson Communication Consultants was presented with a joint award in the Health Organisations category for their work establishing Kaleeya Hospital's new Maternity Unit in East Fremantle as a credible and trusted facility after the closure of Woodside Maternity Hospital.
Rio Tinto took out the prize for Corporate Social Responsibility with the Future Fund campaign. The Future Fund is a $2 million per annum initiative, which joins forces with public, private and community sectors to support community, environmental, social and economic programs.
Sheryl Fewster, President of PRIA Western Australia, said that this year's Golden Target Awards was a display of intellectual and creative talent.
