Nedlands-based medical device manufacturer Visiomed Group Ltd has signed an agreement with Israeli medical equipment provider Rimipharm Medical Products Ltd for the distribution of its Funhaler paediatric asthma spacer, the company announced today.

Visiomed has today signed a Distribution Agreement with Israeli medical equipment provider Rimipharm Medical Products Ltd to supply its Funhaler paediatric asthma spacer to the Israeli market. This follows recent distribution deals in Brazil, Italy and France.
The Agreement will see Rimipharm Medical Products Ltd distribute an initial committed quota of 8,000 Funhaler units worth approximately AU$175,000.
Rimipharm Medical Products, located in Petah Tikva, Israel specialises in marketing and selling equipment and supplies for rapid diagnostic applications, with particular emphasis on solutions for diseases of the upper respiratory system. Rimipharm Medical Ltd. will market Funhaler to Sick Funds, physicians, clinics and pharmacies.
Visiomed Chief Executive Officer Dr William Dolphin said: "While Israel, with a population of 6.5 million, is a small market, this appointment is another important step in Visiomed's strategy to rapidly increase market penetration in international markets.
"In addition to recently signed Distribution Agreements covering Brazil, Italy, France and now Israel, Visiomed has been granted patents for its products in the United States and China.
"We expect to complete distribution agreements in other major markets in the near future and to build on the momentum being generated.
"As we continue to expand our global market presence Visiomed is being recognized as a significant player in the large and growing respiratory care market."
The Funhaler is a patented asthma spacer (valved holding chamber) designed specifically for the paediatric market. Designed to attach to children's asthma 'puffers', the Funhaler incorporates auditory and visual incentives that encourage children to more easily and effectively take their asthma medication.
