Engineering contractor VDM Group has won $56 million in new contracts, including $42 million worth of new deals with the Queensland Department of Transport.
The works will see VDM construct five kilometres of highway on a new alignment at Bruce Highway, near the Queensland town of Ayr.
VDM will also construct a 1.5km realignment of Bruce Highway near Gin Gin.
The awards follow announcements earlier this year that VDM’s Western Operations had won $14 million worth of contracts in Western Australia.
“The geographical division of VDM’s operations has allowed the company to better align our internal business units with our opportunities in the resources, public infrastructure, and urban development sectors,” VDM managing director Andrew Broad said.
“We continue to see a solid pipeline of opportunities going forward with our existing clients and winning repeat business with valued clients is a key component of our transformation strategy.
“We remain bullish on our opportunities in all sectors in which we operate.”
At close of trade today, VDM stocks had gained 27 per cent, or 0.9 cents, to finish at 3.3 cents.
