AUSTRALIS Aquaculture is planning to give the US its first taste of its barramundi on October 2 at one of the James Beard Foundation’s dinners
The foundation’s dinners are renowned for attracting top chefs, wine professionals and cook book authors from around the world.
Australis also plans to have its first five tonnes of fish for sale in the fourth quarter.
The company has assumed control of its wholly owned US plant and has begun facility and operational upgrades.
The live export of barramundi fingerlings to New York continue with more than 100,000 fish now in production.
Australis recently completed a $5.5 million float to raise capital to fund the purchase of the US’ largest indoor recirculation fish ‘grow-out’ facility located in Turners Falls near New York.
