TravelSmart launched

A PROGRAM designed to reduce car use and make better use of other means of transport has been introduced in South Perth. The TravelSmart program is a marketing campaign promoting the use of alternative transport.

Under the program TravelSmart consultants will visit individual households and draw up travel programs to suit the household’s own specific location and transport requirements.

A pilot project undertaken in South Perth in 1997-98 involving 365 households showed a range of benefits could be gained if the program was applied to all of the City of South Perth’s 15,500 households.
