The WA Government has entered into a $10.9 million contract with a number of training providers around the State as part of its Competitive Allocation of Training program.
The CAT program is designed to help the Department of Education and Training meet the skill requirements of industry and help people access vocational education and training.
In the Goldfields the funding has gone to Bega Garnbirringu Health Services Aboriginal; Caterpillar Institute (WA) Pty Ltd, Curtin University VTEC, Ngaanyatjarra Community College and the College of Retail Training.
In the Great Southern Albany Worklink, Regional Training Services, The Apprentice and Traineeship Company and TAFE WA Great Southern have been funded.
In the Kimberley the funding for the region has been split between Goolarri Media Enterprises, Djaringo, Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Council, Kimberly TAFE and WOTA.
Funds in the Mid-West/Gascoyne region have gone to Central West Tafe, Australian College of Training, Phoenix West Training Company, Dental Nursing Australia and WOTA.
Austral College, Challenger TAFE, Community First, Fairbridge WA, Forest Heritage Centre, The Apprentice and Traineeship Company, Dental Nursing Australia and the Australian School of Hospitality Management have gained funding in the Peel region.
Community First, The Apprentice and Traineeship Company and Dental Nursing Australia have also received funding along with Jobs South West, Workbased Learning and Development, the Australian School of Tourism and Hotel Management and South West Regional College of TAFE in the South West region.
Funding to the Wheatbelt has been shared between CY O’Connor TAFE and Central Area Region Training Services.
In the metropolitan area funding has gone to Abmusic, Association for the Blind, Australasian Hotel College, Caterpillar Institute, CCI Training Services, Central TAFE, Challenger TAFE, Community and Youth Training, ECU CSESS Faculty Business, Kensington Police and Citizens, Fremantle Education Centre, The Apprenticeship and Trainee Company, Mission Australia, Nationwide Transport Training, PEP Community Services, Australian School of Tourism and Hotel Management, Rocky Bay Inc, South Metropolitan Youth Link, Jobs West, Swan TAFE, West Coast TAFE and XLT Industrial Training.
