PERTH City Council has started roadworks at Barrack Square as part of the site’s redevelopment.
The vehicle entry to Barrack Square will be altered, two new central carriageways with footpaths will be created and some parking areas will be relocated.
The works are intended to create space for the WA Government’s Bell Tower project and are expected to take six weeks to complete.
Towards the end of that period, traffic lights at the Barrack Square entrance will be moved to allow easier access to the site.
However, this work is scheduled for a weekend to try and minimise disruption to traffic and visitors in the area.
