Timber in style for luxury homes

One of Perth’s most exclusive home builders says double-brick construction is no longer in vogue at the top end of the market, with clients becoming increasingly willing to explore alternative building techniques such as timber framing and cladding to achieve a specific look for their home.

It never ceases to astonish me, as an Architect, how difficult it is to break the double-brick mentality here in Perth. It is far more environmentally sensible in our Mediterranean climate to build out of entirely lightweight construction materials, or reverse brick-veneer. It's good to see some progress towards these changes, particularly in custom high end homes, as often the project home market follows the lead. Well done Dean.

Huge congratulations Dean! Proving that the true value of quality framed construction can be demonstrated by knowing your trade and delivering the results. Double brick is unsustainable and giving consumers confidence about the alternatives is part of the journey towards better housing choice for homebuyers at all ends of the affordability spectrum.
