The Western Australian Deaf Society was established in 1921 and became an incorporated body in 1930 to assist and serve the interests and needs of the deaf community of Western Australia.
The affairs of the Society are managed by a Board of eleven members who are elected by the members of the Society at the Annual General Meeting, the Society employs an Executive Director and other staff to carry out its functions. Two positions on the board are currently vacant. 80 per cent of money raisied by the Western Australian Deaf Society comes from fundraising and donations.
