Arty entrance
The wealth generated in the Pilbara is evident every day on the skyline of Perth, but apart from resource companies’ brands lighting up our high rises, there is little to make a direct connection between the metropolitan south and rugged north.
One way to change that is a bit of art.
Therefore, The Note was intrigued to see part of the newly opened glamour shopping space of Enex 100 has been rented out to artist Jacinda Bayne (pictured).
Ms Bayne will relocate her studio to the CBD to work on her latest collection, a series of landscape works inspired by the Pilbara entitled ‘In a Different Light’.
In a nice touch, visitors will be able to see the artist at work, preparing for a solo exhibition at private gallery Linton & Kay in Subiaco.

The Note was an innocent bystander in the battle that Bruce Gray successfully fought against University of WA over his entitlement to retain shares in Sirtex Medical.
But the matter still has legs, if only because the lawyers are now fighting over costs.
WA Supreme Court Master Craig Sanderson recently provided for an extension of time to allow the legal costs to be taxed, noting in his reasons that Dr Gray’s legal costs to his lawyers, Lavan Legal, came to $4.8 million – an amount he said was significant even by today’s standards.
Master Sanderson also provided information on the complexity of the trial, which involved claims over a number of inventions and patents.
For some reason, The Note loves statistics so here they are. The trial lasted 50 sitting days in 2007; the transcript ran to 4,568 pages; more than 1,000 documents were exhibited; 19 interlocutory judgments were published; and the judgment has 1,619 paragraphs.
