THE Brand Agency has launched legal action against one of its former clients, Satterley Property Group.
Satterley, which spends about $3 million annually in total advertising, switched agencies to Bowtell Clarke and Yole in July.
BC&Y was previously providing minor project work for Satterley, with the bulk of the account managed by The Brand Agency.
The Brand Agency lodged a District Court writ earlier this month against Satterley Property Group for the amount of $52,099.
The Brand Agency director Steve Harris did not wish to comment on the reasons for the legal action.
It’s been a tumultuous few months for Western Australia’s second largest advertising agency (in billings), which resigned from the $10 million Red Rooster account in June.
The agency is now fighting to defend the $7 million Royal Automobile Club of WA account from competitors 303 Advertising and Marketforce in a tender review process that will take place next month.
The RAC review follows speculation The Brand Agency has lost the Melbourne-based $1 million Toyota Dealerships Advertising Fund account.
The Brand Agency creative director Ross Tucker and account director Trent O’Sullivan recently left the agency to establish Balance Advertising and Marketing .
According to Mr O’Sullivan, TDAF is a client of the new agency.
However, The Brand Agency managing director Ken James said there had been no change to the agency’s working arrangement with TDAF.
Mr Harris said The Brand Agency’s Perth office was busy working on new business projects that were not sufficiently advanced to reveal to WA Business News.
