SMALL businesses will find tendering for government contracts easier using a tender shell document developed by the WA’s Department of Contract and Management Services.
Small Business Development Corporation managing director George Etrelezis said the
template would assist business operators to clearly address tender criteria.
“Small business operators often do not have the expertise to complete tender documents and, as a result, spend a lot of time working on them,” Mr Etrelezis said.
“Using this template can reduce preparation time by about one-third.”
The tender shell is a standard template specific to each CAMS tender.
Business operators ‘fill in the blanks’ to address qualitative and compliance criteria.
Training group Dillon Whitelaw and Associates managing director Felicity Peterson said the document cut her preparation time on a recent tender from fifteen hours to about ten.
CAMS has also produced three booklets to assist small businesses in tendering for government contracts.
