West Perth-based mineral explorer Tanami Gold NL intends to commence mining operations in April at its Coyote Gold project with first gold production scheduled for the end of the June 2006 quarter.
This follows the company receiving development approvals, including a clearing permit from the Department of Environment, for the project located off the Tanami Highway, near the Northern Territory boarder.
The clearing permit enables Tanami to commence land clearing for the development of the mine and related infrastructure, including the treatment plant and airstrip.
The project notice of intent has also been recommended for approval by the Department of Industry and Resources.
Last year, Tanami sold the uranium rights to its 60,000 square kilometre Tanami-Arunta explor-ation portfolio to Deep Yellow for $400,000 and 30 million shares.
