TNG wins tenement dispute

Subiaco-based TNG Ltd has had a win in the Warden's court over a tenement dispute with Mincor Zinc Pty Ltd.

In 2006, TNG, through its wholly owned subsidiary Tennant Creek Gold (NT) Pty Ltd, applied for an exploration licence in the Kimberley at the same time Mincor lodged an application.

Tennant Creek challenged the validity of the application by Mincor on the basis that it failed to comply with the Mining Act and was therefore not entitled to participate in a ballot.

Mincor argued that its application was compliant and applied for a ballot to be held between both companies.

TNG said the Warden's decision was to refuse the application by Mincor for a ballot on the basis that the tenement application by Mincor was not capable of grant without amendment.

Mincor subsequently lodged a withdrawal of its tenement application on 16 July 2008.

TNG welcomes the decision and is not aware of any reason why the application will not be granted.

The area adds significantly to the strategic ground holding that TNG is securing as continuations of the Manbarrum Zinc project which currently hosts a global resource of over 35 million tonnes of combined zinc, lead and silver.
