TOP marks to Chevron Australia’s MD Roy Krzywosinski who coined the phrase: “Up and down like an agitated kangaroo with a bad case of fleas”. That was his way of explaining the past year’s energy price movements at the Society of Petroleum Engineers conference this week. Makes you uncomfortable just thinking about it. Mr Krzywosinski obviously enjoys an analogy. In the same speech he described the building of a pipeline over a steep drop, explaining it was a height similar (albeit underwater) to the Empire State Building in the US or, for Perth locals, the length of five Bell Towers. The New York icon (presumably sans gorilla) struck a chord with The Note but the latter example was lost on us – even five Bell Towers sounds small.
