Strategic Marine has announced it has won a contract with a Malaysian oil and gas services firm to supply two 40 metre crew boats.
Malaysian firm JCB Oil and Gas will purchase two crew boats from Strategic, and hold the option to order a further two vessels.
The boats will be delivered at Strategic's Singapore shipyard in the fourth quarter of this year.
Strategic executive director Ron Anderson said the contract added to the company's strong record of sales into the Malaysian market.
"This contract with JCB Oil & Gas Services marks the start of an exciting new relationship between two companies that have similar values and growth aspirations," Mr Anderson said.
"I am confident that by working together we can help each other attain our goals.
"These crew boats will push the total number of vessels delivered into Malaysian marine sector to 28 and are the first to utilise our multiple shipyard construction strategy.
Mr Anderson said he expected the deal would strengthen the company's reputation in the global shipbuilding market.
"This reputation will play a pivotal role in launching our shipbuilding diversification plans into the future," he said.
"In fact, we are currently in negotiations on a number of projects for vessels which include platform supply vessels, anchor handling vessels, dive / ROV support vessels, tug boats, wind farm maintenance vessels and passenger vessels."
Strategic Marine is now contracted for more than 250 vessels from its yards in Australia, Vietnam, Mexico and Singapore.
