Straits replaces chair with Good, Ong

West Perth-based miner Straits Resources Ltd has appointed former PricewaterhouseCoopers managing partner Alan Good as non-executive chairman and Richard Ong Chui Chat as chief executive of its Singapore-based subsidiary.

The two appointees replace the company's low-profile former chairman David Toms, who resigned from the company's board earlier this month after selling his entire shareholding for $120 million.

Mr Good has served on the Straits Board in a non-executive capacity since 2005.

Mr Ong, previously the chief operating officer of Straits Asia Resources Ltd, is a marine civil engineer with over 20 years experience in operating in South East Asia.
