Elects New Board
The Regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia has a new board with Kalgoorlie Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry's President Kitty Prodonovich elected President at the Chamber's recent Annual General Meeting held in Perth.
New board members also elected include Peel Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Geoff Samuels - Vice President, Bunbury Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chief Executive Officer Alan Birrell - Treasurer and Kalgoorlie Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chief Executive Officer Hugh Gallagher - Secretary.
The Regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry Western Australia is the authoritative voice to deliver real benefits to business and community of regional WA.
The Chamber represents over 4,000 members from the nine regions in Western Australia that include Gascoyne (Carnarvon), Goldfields-Esperance (Kalgoorlie), Great Southern (Albany), Kimberley (Broome), Mid West (Geraldton) Peel (Mandurah), Pilbara (Karratha), South West (Bunbury) and Wheatbelt (Narrogin).
In her Presidential acceptance speech, Ms Prodonovich acknowledged the commitment and vision of the Chamber's founder and outgoing President Rolf Stene AM who was made honorary member of the Chamber.
"One man's 10 year dream is a reality, that Regional Western Australia has one voice, and the Regional Chambers of Commerce and industry is that voice," Ms Prodonovich said.
"This is an exciting time for the Regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry as we have achieved a consolidated membership with representation from all nine regions in this State.
"This State's economic boom is a product of the activities within regional Western Australia and the contribution that it makes to the wealth of our state cannot be ignored. That is why it is important that we have a strong and committed Regional Chamber.
"In moving forward, the Chamber aims to consolidate its position as the strong regional influential voice on the regional economy and promote economic growth.
"We aim is to provide leadership to encourage the development of regional communities and businesses through increasing our profile and further developing our working partnerships with Local, State and Federal Governments.
Kalgoorlie-Boulder born Ms Prodonovich has owned and operated two successful businesses in Kalgoorlie that employed up to 40 people between them. Ms Prodonovich has a strong background in membership organisations and labour relations and is currently working with Roy Weston Borromei Willis.
As President of the KBCCI Ms Prodonovich is an active member of the Kalgoorlie- Boulder business community.
