State hopes to trim 300 public servants

The state government is hoping that up to 300 public servants will take up redundancy offers made to them as part of Treasurer Troy Buswell's plan to trim employee costs in the public sector.

This is a good move by the government and the redundant's should grab any offer with both hands.

The day after these people depart, I bet the government departments and agencies runs exactly the same as before, inefficiently... I think they should be offering 3000 voluntary redundancies. Better still, maybe if there was some strong accountability applied at all levels and basic KPI established, focus on constructive outputs and delivery, these people would resign anyway without the State having to hand over this un-earned bonus! I now await a barrage from the unionists...
