Spin-offs benefit Perth

DESPITE difficulties in the resources sector the industry is still spinning off benefits for Perth with the opening of the $5 million Nilos Australia conveyor belt reconditioning plant and a new $6 million mineral ore pilot testing plant at Kewdale.

Nilos claims its plant in Jandakot can return badly damaged or ripped conveyor belts to full service at a lower cost than replacement.

The Oretest and Lakefield plant at Kewdale will provide test facilities for laterite nickel deposits awaiting development elsewhere in Australia.
