Southern Cross Electrical Engineering has received a letter of intent for a $12 million electrical instrumentation installation contract at Thiess Sedgman Joint Venture’s Lake Vermont Coal Expansion project.
Work on the installation is expected to start in January and finish in October 2012.
Once upgrades are completed, the central Queensland plant is expected to produce up an additional 4 million tonnes of coal product per year.
Southern Cross Electrical Engineering general manager Jorn Granger said the company had a strong background in work of this nature and it looked forward to bringing its expertise and solid reputation to the project.
Southern Cross Electrical Engineering shares were steady at 85 cents at close today.
