Lotterywest announced today that a contract has been signed with Intralot Australia to provide a new gaming system and terminals for Lotterywest retailers. Intralot Australia is a subsidiary of an Athens-based company which is now the second largest supplier of lottery gaming systems in the world.
"I am very pleased that the contract negotiations are complete, and Lotterywest can now begin the work with our Intralot colleagues in implementing this new gaming system", said the Chairman of Lotterywest, Mr Clyde Bevan.
"Lotterywest has been a very successful lottery since installing its first gaming system in 1986. This new technology means we will have the most advanced technology to continue to develop our business for the benefit of the thousands of Western Australian community organisations we support" he said.
The contract is for gaming system services for the next ten years. It is expected that the new system will be in place early in 2008.

Following an international tender and a competitive process, INTRALOT Australia Pty Ltd., 100% owned by INTRALOT S.A., has signed a contract for the provision of the new on-line gaming operating system together with necessary support services for the Lotteries Commission of Western Australia (Lotterywest).
The contract is for 5 years with options to extend for up to another 5 years. Total revenue from the contract, including extensions and options, will be approximately AUD18 million dollars. Implementation of the new system will start almost immediately and the conversion to the new system will commence by March, 2008.
The project entails the supply and implementation as well as the support of the integrated lottery system, based on INTRALOT's open architecture solution LOTOS™ O/S and CORONIS family of terminals (including Ticket Checkers and Portable Terminals). Furthermore INTRALOT will be providing the hardware equipment that will host the LOTOS™ O/S and its applications.
The new system will provide Lotterywest with all the necessary functionality to provide the community of Western Australia with a reliable and modern lottery system.
