Western Australian airline Skywest has announced a significant expansion of its network.
Skywest said it would resume its twice weekly Perth-Karratha service, which will be operated by its 100 seat Fokker 100 jet aircraft.
It will also increase its Perth-Geraldton services from 37 to 40 flights per week, representing an 8% increase in capacity, and its Perth-Albany services from 18 to 20 flights per week, representing a 10% increase in capacity.
The Perth-Exmouth service, which runs three times a week, will be upgraded to a jet service, representing a 14% increase in capacity
All of these expansion initiatives occur with effect from 26th May 2008.
The airline said that this was the largest increase in the network for several years.
Skywest further advised that the fuel levy charged on passenger tickets was under review, with a further increase possible in the near term.
